Dąbrowa is a rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within Opole County, with its administrative seat in the town of Dąbrowa. Since 1950, the municipality has been part of the Opole Voivodeship. According to data from June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 9,523. As a result of a boundary change on January 1, 2017, the localities of Sławice, Wrzoski, and part of Karczów were incorporated into the city of Opole, leading to a decrease in population by 1,442 people and a reduction in the municipality's area by 16.72 km². In 2002, the municipality of Dąbrowa covered an area of 130.84 km², of which 68% was agricultural land and 22% was forested land, with the total area accounting for 8.25% of Opole County. Demographic data from 2011 show that 14% of the inhabitants declared German nationality, while according to the 2021 census, the municipality is home to Poles, Germans (9.81%), Silesians (9.34%), and English (0.12%). The municipality of Dąbrowa comprises several administrative villages, including Chróścina, Ciepielowice, Karczów, and Mechnice, as well as several localities without administrative village status, such as Sokolniki and Wyrębiny. The municipality borders Dobrzeń Wielki, Komprachcice, Lewin Brzeski, Niemodlin, Opole, Popielów, and Tułowice. In terms of international cooperation, Dąbrowa has partnerships with Halych, Lengede, and Orawské Veselé.
