Dąbrowa, located in the northeastern part of Kielce and the southwestern part of Masłów municipality, has approximately 4,500 inhabitants. Housing estates such as Stara Góra, Podstefaniec, and Osiedle Dąbrowa form the urban part, while the suburban areas include Dąbrowa Kolonia and Koszarka. Geographically, Dąbrowa lies in the Masłów Range, in the Silnica River valley, and its area is part of the Kielce Protected Landscape Area. The village is home to two parish churches and a historic wooden chapel from 1866, which is listed in the register of monuments. Historically, Dąbrowa was founded in the 15th century on the initiative of Bishop Zbigniew Oleśnicki and was initially named Siedlnicza. The settlement developed thanks to natural resources, including iron deposits that were exploited as early as the 18th century. During World War II and in the post-war period, Dąbrowa was the seat of the municipality, and in the interwar period, its population was 1,178. Today, Dąbrowa is focusing on the development of a new type of housing estate, modeled on American suburbs, with a planned market square and new public infrastructure. Sports play an important role in Dąbrowa; the football club "Orlęta" has a long history, having achieved numerous promotions over the years. An interesting fact is that a replica of Warsaw's "Syrenka" (Mermaid) statue was erected in Dąbrowa, and locals attribute health benefits to the area's water sources. Currently, efforts are underway to modernize transportation, which is expected to improve Dąbrowa's accessibility and enhance its status as a residential and recreational area.
