wikipedia
The observation tower on Wielka Sowa, built between 1905 and 1906, is located on the highest peak of the Owl Mountains. Its construction was initiated by the Owl Mountains Society, which obtained permission from Count Wilhelm von Magnis. The first tower, built of stone, was 20 meters high and opened in 1886, but it had to be closed and demolished in 1904 due to damage. The new tower, designed by bricklayer Hennig, was 25 meters high, and its construction cost approximately 20,000 marks. The grand opening took place on May 24, 1906, and inside there was a memorial hall with a bust of Otto von Bismarck. The tower gained a reputation as a viewpoint, and in 1910, a plaque was placed in honor of Richard Tamm, the initiator of its construction. After World War II, it underwent several name changes but ultimately remained known as the Tower on Wielka Sowa. In 2006, the municipality of Pieszyce completed its renovation, and the tower is now open to tourists daily from May to October, as well as on winter weekends. It is one of the few Bismarck Towers in the Sudetes and a place with rich history and architecture that attracts visitors from the surrounding area.
