Okonek

Okonek is an urban-rural municipality in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Złotów County, with its administrative seat located in the town of the same name. From 1975 to 1998, the municipality was part of the Piła Voivodeship. According to data from June 30, 2004, the municipality had a population of 8,975. Its total area is 325.88 km², of which 43% is agricultural land and 41% is forested, making it an area rich in natural resources and recreational zones. Okonek constitutes 19.62% of the total area of Złotów County. Demographically, the municipality features a diverse age structure among its residents. The municipality, with its villages such as Borki, Borucino, and Lotyń, as well as non-administrative settlements like Anielin and Dolnik, forms a unique local community.
