The municipality of Oleśnica, located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship within Oleśnica County, is part of the Wrocław agglomeration. Its administrative seat is the town of Oleśnica. The municipality covers an area of 242.85 km², of which 69.9% is agricultural land and 22.3% is forested, highlighting its natural beauty. In 2012, the population was 12,354. According to data from June 30, 2020, the number of inhabitants increased to 13,965. Within the municipality, the KAGO bus network operates, connecting all localities with Oleśnica through various lines, facilitating transport and access to other locations for residents. The municipality is distinguished by its rich architectural heritage, including the historic half-timbered wooden church in Boguszyce dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help from the 17th century, and a neo-Gothic palace from 1850 in the same location. In Brzezinka, there is an 18th-century church dedicated to the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary and a palace and park complex from the same period, reflecting the region's rich history. Oleśnica was also part of the Wrocław Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998. The municipality borders several others, such as Bierutów, Dziadowa Kłoda, Syców, and Twardogóra, underscoring its strategic location in the region.
