wikipedia
Osięciny is a rural commune in Poland, located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Radziejów County. Before 1975, it was administratively part of the Bydgoszcz Voivodeship, and from 1975 to 1998, it belonged to the Włocławek Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 122.99 km², of which 89% is agricultural land. As of June 30, 2004, the population was 8,146. Historically, Osięciny was part of the Radziejów County in the Warsaw Governorate, and on August 16, 1870, the commune was expanded to include the unlawfully incorporated town of Osięciny. The commune is known for its rich architectural heritage, including manor complexes, parks, and a historic parish church. In Borucin, there are two 19th-century manor complexes, as well as a manor in Jarantowice from the early 20th century, surrounded by a park and an access avenue. In Kościelna Wieś stands the 12th-century Church of St. Lawrence, a valuable example of sacred architecture. The commune also features a church complex in Osięciny, with elements such as the church built between 1845 and 1855 and a cemetery, forming an important site of worship and local memory. Additionally, Osięciny is surrounded by numerous 19th-century manor parks that have retained their charm and serve as tourist attractions. Among the commune's villages are Bartłomiejowice, Bełszewo, Krotoszyn, and Osięciny, and the commune borders Bądkowo and Radziejów. An interesting fact is the diversity of settlements, some of which do not have the status of a village, such as Włodzimierka or Latkowo. The Osięciny Commune is an important part of local culture and history, attracting both residents and tourists interested in Polish architectural and landscape heritage.
