Osieck is an urban-rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within the Otwock County, with its administrative seat in the town of Osieck. According to data from December 2019, the municipality is home to 3,636 residents. It comprises 17 auxiliary units, including 13 village councils (sołectwa) and 4 colonies. Within its boundaries, there are also numerous historical monuments, such as the Church of St. Apostles Andrew and Bartholomew from 1904, a wooden cemetery chapel dedicated to St. Roch, and several old cottages that preserve local architecture and history. Osieck boasts a rich history dating back to the second half of the 13th century, and in 1870, the municipality was transformed when the formerly chartered town of Osieck was incorporated into it. Historical changes in administration and the development of the locality testify to the dynamic history of the region. The municipality is full of tourist trails offering hiking and cycling routes, attracting visitors eager to explore the surrounding areas, including the trail through the Vistula woodlands. Transportation in the municipality relies on a network of provincial roads and two railway lines, providing easy access to nearby towns. Osieck continues to cherish its traditions and culture, with local events and the activities of Volunteer Fire Departments and schools, including kindergartens, actively influencing the lives of its residents. Moreover, the surrounding area is rich in nature, and the idyllic landscapes combined with proximity to natural surroundings promote recreation. Since 2024, the municipality of Osieck has entered a new era of local governance with new authorities, indicating continuity and a desire for the development of the local community.
