Osowa Góra Park

Osowa Góra Park in Bydgoszcz covers an area of approximately 14.54 hectares, forming a green park area within the residential district of the same name. It consists of seven main sections, including landscaped meadows, ponds, and forested areas, which provide recreational opportunities for residents. On the western outskirts of the park, the ecological site "Zielona Ostoja" (Green Refuge) has been established to protect a peat bog and its biodiversity. The park's history dates back to the 19th century when the area was partially developed with small water features. In the late 1950s, Osowa Góra was incorporated into the city of Bydgoszcz. During the 1960s, the district saw significant development, including the construction of infrastructure and schools, followed by the park's reconstruction. In the 21st century, a series of revitalization works were carried out, such as the construction of pathways, recreational ponds, and a mini brine graduation tower. The park has gained importance as a leisure destination for the growing number of residents, and future transport plans include the development of bicycle path infrastructure. An interesting fact is the presence of rare plant species, such as the round-leaved sundew, making this area unique in terms of natural value within Bydgoszcz.
