Pępowo is a rural commune located in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Gostyń County, with its seat in the town of Pępowo. The commune has existed since 1975, when it was established as part of the administrative reform, and from 1975 to 1998 it belonged to the Leszno Voivodeship. The commune covers an area of 86.71 km², of which 73% is agricultural land and 20% is forested. The commune constitutes 10.7% of the area of Gostyń County. In 2019, the population was 5,948, indicating demographic stability in the region. The commune's coat of arms features a divided shield: on the right golden field, there is a red church tower on a green hill, and on the left red field, a golden rearing horse, which may symbolize the historical significance and strength of local traditions. The commune comprises 13 village administrative units, as well as several settlements, including Bielawy, Czeluścinek, and Czerwona Róża, reflecting the region's dispersed settlement pattern.
