The Płoniawy-Bramura commune, located in the Masovian Voivodeship within the Maków County, covers an area of 134.96 km², of which 69% is agricultural land and 24% is forested land. As a so-called rural commune, it has existed since 1990 and has its seat in the town of Płoniawy-Bramura. According to demographic data, in 2004 the commune was inhabited by 5,923 residents. The administrative structure of the commune includes a number of villages, such as Bobino-Grzybki, Chodkowo-Biernaty, and Stare Zacisze. Historically, between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the Ostrołęka Voivodeship. Since its establishment, the commune's mayors have implemented various initiatives for the residents; currently, the mayor is Jakub Dudek, who took office in 2018. The commune borders other administrative units, such as Czerwonka, Przasnysz, and Krasne. It is a region with diverse surface structures, which influences traditional forms of economy, such as agriculture.
