Pacanów is an urban-rural municipality in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, located in Busko County. The municipality, with its seat in the town of Pacanów, boasts a rich history dating back to the times of the Kingdom of Poland, when it belonged to Stopnica County. In 1870, Pacanów was transformed into a town settlement. At the beginning of the 21st century, the municipality covered an area of 124.58 km², of which 87% was agricultural land. Around 7,000 inhabitants in 2010 formed an agricultural community engaged in growing vegetables and grains, as well as fish farming. The municipality had 135 registered business entities, and the number of unemployed was 347 people. In terms of architecture, notable landmarks include the Basilica of St. Martin in Pacanów, with fragments of the walls of an early Gothic church, and the wooden church of St. Giles and St. Nicholas in Zborówek, which dates back to the 15th century. The Radziwiłł Palace in Słupia is also worth mentioning. The municipality focuses on infrastructure development, with attention to access to water and gas, as well as telephone networks. Pacanów cultivates local culture with the help of the folk ensemble "Pacanowianie" and the European Fairy Tale Center named after Koziołek Matołek. Non-governmental organizations also operate in the region, engaging the community in various initiatives. Additionally, regional gastronomy offers restaurants such as "Koziołek" and "Bajkowa." The municipality borders areas like Łubnice, Mędrzechów, Nowy Korczyn, and Solec-Zdrój.
