Papowo Biskupie is a rural commune located in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Chełmno County, with its administrative seat in the village of Papowo Biskupie. The commune is characterized by its agricultural profile, covering an area of 70.44 km², of which 91% is farmland. In 2010, the commune had a population of 4,515, while in 2003, the number of inhabitants was 4,462. There are 170 farms in the commune, with an average area of about 12 hectares. The vast majority of the land is classified as quality classes I, II, and III. The commune is served by three volunteer fire departments, which play a significant role in the local community.
