Parchowo is a rural commune in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Bytów County, with its administrative seat located in the village of Parchowo. From 1975 to 1998, the commune was part of the Słupsk Voivodeship. It was recognized as a bilingual commune following the introduction of the Kashubian language as an auxiliary language in 2010. The commune comprises 11 village districts, including Parchowo, Chośnica, Gołczewo, and Sylczno. As of the end of 2017, the population was 3,724, reflecting a small but stable community. The commune covers an area of 130.91 km², of which 40% is agricultural land and 49% is forested, making it a heavily wooded and agricultural region. Parchowo is situated in a picturesque area, near National Road 20, which ensures convenient access to larger cities. The commune is also distinguished by its natural wealth, including the Jeziorka Chośnickie Nature Reserve, highlighting the importance of environmental conservation in this region. It borders communes such as Bytów and Sulęczyno, fostering regional cooperation. An interesting fact is that, according to the 2002 census, 22.6% of the residents speak Kashubian, indicating the preservation of local traditions and Kashubian culture. Additionally, Parchowo and the surrounding villages feature various architectural and cultural sites that attest to the region's rich history.
