Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Warsaw

The Parish of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Warsaw, located in the Saska Kępa district, was established on April 17, 1938, by Cardinal Aleksander Kakowski, with Father Canon Władysław Roguski serving as its first parish priest. Over the years, the parish has had many pastors, including Father Prelate Tadeusz Kot and Father Monsignor Stanisław Rawski. From 2015 to 2021, the role was held by Father Prelate Zygmunt Wirkowski, and since 2021, it has been led by Father Prelate Krzysztof Warchałowski. Among the historical highlights, it is worth noting that from 1957 to 1958, the vicar was Father Jan Twardowski, a renowned Polish poet, commemorated by a monument in the form of a boulder in front of the church. Dominican sisters have also been active within the parish since 1959. The parish church, dedicated to St. Andrew Bobola, is situated on Alfred Nobel Street, lending the location a distinctive character. The parish plays a key role in the spiritual life of the local community, with its activities deeply rooted in cultural traditions and initiatives supporting the residents of Saska Kępa.
