Pasłęk is an urban-rural municipality located in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, within Elbląg County. It was established from 34 village administrative districts, with its seat in the town of Pasłęk. The municipality has a rich historical background dating back to the Middle Ages, when it was an important trade center. Between 1975 and 1998, the Pasłęk municipality operated within the Elbląg Voivodeship. Demographically, in 2004, the municipality was inhabited by 19,340 people, and by 2019, this number was 19,313. The municipality covers an area of 264.39 km², dominated by agricultural land, which constitutes 74% of its territory. Pasłęk also includes numerous localities and settlements, such as Anglity, Dargowo, and Talpity. In terms of architecture, the municipality features diverse buildings reflecting local and historical influences. The urban complex of Pasłęk impresses with both its town structure and the surrounding nature. It is worth mentioning that elements of Prussian and Polish regional culture can be observed in the area, making it an interesting destination for tourists and history researchers. Interestingly, Pasłęk is known for its work on the conservation of local historical monuments, as well as the organization of cultural events that integrate residents and promote regional traditions.
