wikipedia
The Podkarpackie Voivodeship, established in 1999, is located in the southeastern part of Poland and serves as an administrative division with its government seat in Rzeszów. It was formed by merging the territories of the former Rzeszów and Przemyśl voivodeships, along with parts of the Krosno, Tarnobrzeg, and Tarnów voivodeships. The region features diverse architecture, reflecting its rich history—from castles such as Łańcut Castle and the Renaissance Krasiczyn Castle, to churches, museums, and folk culture sites like the Museum of Folk Culture in Kolbuszowa and the Open-Air Museum in Sanok. The voivodeship is home to numerous cultural institutions, including philharmonics and theaters, which play a significant role in local cultural life. Podkarpackie is also rich in traditions and folklore, showcased through numerous festivals and artistic events. Interestingly, it is one of the five regions in Poland with a consistently growing population and boasts the highest life expectancy in the country. The natural beauty of the region is highlighted by national parks, such as the Bieszczady National Park, and numerous green areas. The region is also known for its efficient use of natural resources like sulfur and natural gas, as well as a developed aviation industry, referred to as the Aviation Valley. The Podkarpackie Voivodeship attracts tourists not only with its natural and architectural wealth but also with a wide range of educational programs and sports activities, including traditional disciplines and volleyball.
