Porąbka is a rural municipality located in the Silesian Voivodeship, within the Bielsko County, with its administrative seat in the village of the same name. The municipality consists of three villages: Bujaków, Czaniec, and Kobiernice. According to demographic data, in 2017, the municipality was inhabited by 15,544 people, showing a moderate population increase compared to 2012. The total area of the municipality is 64.59 km², of which 38% is agricultural land and 47% is forested. Porąbka has a rich history dating back to the early 20th century, when the area comprised four separate municipalities: Bujaków, Czaniec, Kobiernice, and Porąbka. In 1900, the population was 7,408 inhabitants. At that time, the region was characterized by high national homogeneity, with 99.7% of the population speaking Polish. Over the years, the municipality has preserved its cultural traditions and maintained architecture typical of the region. Neighboring towns of Porąbka include Andrychów, Czernichów, Kęty, Kozy, and Łękawica, making it part of the culturally diverse Silesian region. An interesting fact is that the municipality covers 14.13% of the area of Bielsko County, highlighting its regional significance. Thanks to its extensive forest and agricultural areas, Porąbka offers residents and tourists numerous opportunities to enjoy outdoor activities and nature.
