Prószków is an urban-rural municipality located in the Opole Voivodeship, within Opole County, with a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages. In 2006, German was introduced here as an auxiliary language, reflecting the region's multicultural heritage. In 2010, bilingual geographical names were introduced for all localities in the municipality, and in 2011, after the name for Przysiecz was agreed upon, this process was completed. The municipality of Prószków covers an area of 121.23 km², of which 55% is agricultural land and 34% is forested. In the localities of the municipality, you can find attractive architectural elements, such as historic buildings and churches, which testify to the region's rich history. In 2017, the municipality lost part of its territory after the separation of the village of Winów, which contributed to a decline in population to 9,860 people in 2004. According to data from 2021, a significant portion of the residents in the municipality of Prószków identify as German (17.96%) and Silesian (13.94%). The municipality borders many other municipalities, making it an important point in the region. Interestingly, the municipality offers diverse culture and traditions, combining Polish and German influences, making it an interesting place for both residents and tourists.
