The PTTK "Pasterka" Shelter is located in the picturesque village of Pasterka, in the Central Sudetes, within the Table Mountains (Góry Stołowe), in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level. It is situated within the Table Mountains National Park, at the foot of the Great Szczeliniec (Szczeliniec Wielki), the highest peak in the region (919 meters above sea level). The building that houses the shelter was constructed in 1926 as a Border Guard outpost. In the 1960s, it was converted into a mountain shelter, and in 2010, it underwent a thorough renovation that transformed the unused basement into recreational rooms and a cross-country ski rental, while a concert hall was arranged in the attic. The shelter serves as an important tourist center, lying on the trail leading to Kudowa-Zdrój and Karłów, and its visitors can admire the panorama of Szczeliniec. In 2011, Pasterka achieved fourth place in the second ranking of Polish PTTK mountain shelters, highlighting its attractiveness and significance in the region. A fascinating aspect of the shelter is its history and the way it combines the tradition of mountain hiking with modern amenities.
