wikipedia
The Stanisław Nowak PTTK Mountain Hut over Wierchomla is a mountain tourist shelter located in the Beskid Sądecki range at an altitude of 895 meters above sea level, on a clearing above Wierchomla. Opened on October 15, 1978, the shelter is housed in a rebuilt granary relocated from Złockie, which gives it an architecture atypical for traditional mountain huts. The initiative to build it was taken by Stanisław Nowak, an active member of the local branch of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK). In 1994, the hut was named after its founder, and in 2011 it underwent a comprehensive modernization, including the addition of a viewing terrace, a new kitchen, and the installation of solar collectors. The hut offers 26 sleeping places in rooms for two to four people, with additional accommodations available in the Finnish Cottage and the Moskałówka. Nearby is the Lembarczek Nature Reserve, which protects Carpathian beech forest, and the Dwie Doliny Muszyna-Wierchomla ski resort. The facility is a popular starting point for tourists, offering numerous hiking trails, including expeditions to Jaworzyna Krynicka and Łabowska Hala. As a significant element of the cultural and tourist landscape of the region, the hut is also a meeting place for mountain enthusiasts who often come here to relax and enjoy the views of the Radziejowa range and the Tatra Mountains.
