The PTTK "Na Szczelińcu" Shelter is a mountain hostel located in the Stołowe Mountains in the Central Sudetes, in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, at an altitude of 905 meters above sea level. The history of the facility dates back to 1815, when the first wooden summer arbor was built. In 1845, thanks to Franz Pabel, a stylish Tyrolean mountain inn called Schweizerai was constructed, which became a popular stop along mountain trails. After World War II, the shelter came under the care of the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society (PTTK) and was renamed Szwajcarka. In 1950, PTTK officially took over the facility. The shelter underwent a major renovation and, since 2006, has once again been offering accommodations and a buffet for tourists. It is worth noting the architectural elements of the building, which have retained the charm of the Tyrolean style. Near the shelter, there are commemorative plaques honoring visits by famous figures such as Johann Wolfgang Goethe and John Quincy Adams, adding to its cultural significance. Additionally, from the viewpoint in front of the shelter, visitors can enjoy an impressive panorama of the surrounding mountains and beautiful, picturesque landscapes. The "Na Szczelińcu" Shelter is not only a place to stay overnight but also an important tourist attraction that draws mountain hiking enthusiasts as well as lovers of the region's history and culture.
