Rachanie is a rural commune in the Lublin Voivodeship, within Tomaszów County, with its administrative seat located in a village of the same name. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the Zamość Voivodeship. It covers an area of 94.05 km², of which 72% is agricultural land and 21% is forested. As of June 30, 2004, the commune was home to 5,805 people, and according to data from April 15, 2008, its demography shows an interesting dynamic with a diverse age structure among its residents.
The commune is known for its valuable natural resources, including the Przecinka Nature Reserve, which protects an ancient beech forest with many majestic trees.
