wikipedia
Radlna is a village located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in Tarnów County. The first historical mention of the settlement dates back to 1350. In the 16th century, the village was owned by the Radliński family, and later changed hands multiple times, including periods under Ludwik Rylski and Ignacy Ujejski, a member of the Bar Confederation. During the 19th century, Radlna was leased by January Uprising insurgents and various owners, among them the Wykowski family, who erected new buildings such as brick-built tenant houses. From this era comes an anecdote about eerie nights at the manor, when servants dressed as ghosts frightened the owners away. A notable landmark is the manor house built around 1880, designed in an eclectic style inspired by Italian Renaissance villas, featuring architectural details such as coats of arms of former owners and a terrace. After World War II, Radlna operated as a State Agricultural Farm (PGR), and several structures have survived to this day, including well-preserved farm buildings and a chapel from 1913. In the postwar period, the village of Radlna held economic significance, producing spirits in a local distillery, among other activities. In 1999, the Radlna sports club was established, reflecting the community’s active cultural life. An interesting artifact is the village seal from 1909, which features a floral motif symbolizing local history and tradition. Radlna exemplifies the centuries-long development of rural Poland, blending elements of culture, architecture, and the daily lives of its inhabitants.
