The Rawa Mazowiecka commune, located in the Łódź Voivodeship, is a significant part of the Rawa County. It was formed by merging the former communes of Boguszyce, Wałowice, and Niwna. Historically, until 1998, it was part of the Skierniewice Voivodeship. Covering an area of 163.98 km², the commune is characterized by a dominant land use structure, with agricultural land occupying most of the area (78%), while forests account for 15%. The commune is also home to part of the Rawka Nature Reserve, which protects the valuable ecosystem of the Rawka River. According to 2019 data, Rawa Mazowiecka had 8,788 inhabitants. The localities within this area include villages such as Boguszyce, Niwna, Wilkowice, and many others, forming a rich cultural and architectural landscape. The commune is known for the historic Rogów Narrow-Gauge Railway that runs through it, serving as a tourist and historical attraction. Its proximity to other communes, such as Biała Rawska and Skierniewice, enriches local social and cultural life.
