wikipedia
The residential and defensive tower in Kwaśniów Dolny, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship, within the municipality of Klucze, is an interesting example of Renaissance architecture. Its construction is dated to 1552, as suggested by an inscription on the lintel, although there are hypotheses that it might also be part of a larger knightly complex. The tower was first mentioned in 1769 in the context of a description of the manor and adjacent buildings. Built of limestone and brick, it reaches a height of about 3 meters and has a rectangular outline of 7 by 5 meters. It consists of two storeys, which originally had a wooden roof, but it burned down during World War I. The structure has walls about 1 meter thick, and the interiors consist of two rooms on each floor, vaulted with a barrel ceiling, with access through a stone portal. The tower is currently located on private property and serves as an outbuilding. It is a protected monument, entered into the register of immovable monuments of the Provincial Office for the Protection of Monuments in Krakow in 2007. Interestingly, much of the information about its history is based on later research and speculation regarding its original function and owners.
