Resko

The Resko Municipality, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Łobez County, encompasses the town of Resko and numerous villages and settlements. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages, with the town receiving its municipal rights in 1296. The municipality boasts valuable architectural monuments, including a Gothic church from the 14th–15th centuries, which now serves as the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Resko, and several half-timbered churches from various eras, including the Baroque St. Anthony's Church from the 18th century in Dorowo. Also noteworthy is the Renaissance palace in Iglice, which captivates with its architecture. The municipality is rich in natural beauty, featuring the Rega and Ukleja rivers, which attract kayaking enthusiasts. Situated on the Łobez Upland, the area is characterized by beautiful forested landscapes, covering 42% of the territory, while agricultural land accounts for 50%. Important transportation routes, including provincial roads, pass through the municipality, along with former railway connections. Resko constitutes 26.8% of the county's area and was part of the Szczecin Voivodeship until 1998. In 2016, the municipality had 8,117 inhabitants, and its budget showed balanced finances with revenues of PLN 33.9 million.
