Recz is an urban-rural municipality located in the southern part of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, within the Choszczno County, with its administrative seat in the town of Recz. The municipality covers an area of 63.67 km² and is inhabited by approximately 5,645 residents, accounting for 11.4% of the county's population. The municipality lies within the Choszczno and Ińsko Lake Districts and the Drawsko Plain, with forests covering 38% of its area and agricultural land making up 57%. The picturesque Ina River flows through the municipality, and one of its highlights is the source of the Reczanka River. The area boasts rich cultural and architectural heritage, including numerous churches and historical monuments such as the 14th-century Choszczno Gate, a 15th-century watchtower, and timber-framed houses from the 18th and 19th centuries. Additionally, the municipality is of historical significance, as it is traversed by the red-themed Hetman Stefan Czarniecki Trail. This region is an important tourist destination, especially in summer, when both residents and visitors can enjoy the charms of Lake Rajsko and Lake Cedynia, which offer opportunities for water-based recreation. The Grądowe Zbocze floral reserve is also worth mentioning, captivating visitors with the intense aroma of wild garlic. The municipality of Recz benefits from well-developed transportation infrastructure, including National Road No. 10 and the Recz Pomorski railway station, facilitating access to nearby cities. Transportation is a key factor in the development of local tourism and the economy. In terms of administration, in 2016, the municipality recorded expenditures of 23 million PLN and revenues of 23.8 million PLN, reflecting significant local government activity. An interesting local feature is the mill on the Ina River, where one can catch and prepare trout, highlighting the region's distinct character and the availability of local goods.
