Korzenna Commune, located in the Lesser Poland Voivodeship within the Nowy Sącz County, is a typical agricultural municipality with developed crop and livestock farming, fruit growing, as well as furniture and baking industries. Covering an area of 106.78 km², the commune is dominated by agricultural land (71%) and forests (21%), and lies within the Rożnów-Ciężkowice Foothills. Historically, the commune was part of the Nowy Sącz Voivodeship from 1975 to 1998. The seat of the commune is Korzenna, which borders several other communes, such as Bobowa and Grybów. The area boasts valuable historical monuments, including a Lemko church from 1805, relocated to Bukowiec, and the Church of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Lipnica Wielka, founded by Casimir the Great in 1359, featuring beautiful polychromes and Rococo altars. Also noteworthy is the wooden church in Mogilno from the turn of the 17th and 18th centuries, and the Chapel of St. Anne from the 18th century. Among other architectural highlights is a 19th-century manor house in Korzenna. The commune is rich in tourist attractions, including the Diable Skały Nature Reserve with its unique Diabla Dziura Cave, known for local legends. Established in 1953, the 16.7-hectare reserve amazes with diverse rock formations, making it a popular spot for climbers. Another point of interest is the Cisy Forest Reserve on the slopes of Jodłowa Góra, established in 1963. Korzenna is not only a place with a rich history but also an area that combines natural beauty with cultural heritage, making it an interesting destination for both tourists and those seeking tranquility in nature.
