Rusiec, formerly known as the Dąbrowa Rusiecka Commune, is a rural municipality in the Łódź Voivodeship, within Bełchatów County, with its seat located in the village of Rusiec. The commune covers an area of 99.91 km², with land use dominated by agricultural land (78.58%) and forests (17.42%). The remaining area includes built-up land, water bodies, and other types of land use. The commune occupies 10.33% of the total area of Bełchatów County. The administrative division of the commune includes numerous village districts (sołectwa), such as Aleksandrów, Andrzejów, Dąbrowa Rusiecka, and Rusiec, which is divided into two parts: Rusiec I and Rusiec II. There are also non-administered villages, including Dąbrowa, Dąbrówki Kobylańskie, and Zagrodniki. Rusiec has a rich historical background, marked by dynamic development in the post-war years and affiliations with various administrative units.
