Sławno Commune, located in the Łódź Voivodeship, Opoczno County, previously known as Janków Commune, is an area with a rich history and diverse traditions. The seat of the commune is the town of Sławno, and its area is 129.31 km². In 2007, the commune had 7,342 inhabitants, whose demographic structure was analyzed based on an age pyramid. The modern commune occupies 12.43% of the entire Opoczno County, highlighting its regional significance. The majority of the commune's area, as much as 76%, is occupied by agricultural land, indicating the agricultural character of the region.
