Suchań is an urban-rural municipality located in the southern part of the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, within Stargard County, with its seat in the town of Suchań. The municipality covers an area that constitutes 8.7% of the county's total area. Its borders are defined by neighboring municipalities: Stargard to the west, Marianowo and Dobrzany to the north, Recz to the east, and Choszczno and Dolice to the south. The municipality maintains strong ties with nature; its territory includes the Ina River, which is navigable by kayaks, and two lakes: Wapnickie and Sierakowskie, both of which play significant roles in fishing. In Żuków, there is a well-known horse stud that offers riding activities during the winter season. The municipality is home to numerous registered monuments, including churches in Suchań, Sadłowo, Słodkowo, and Słodkówko, as well as castle ruins, attracting history enthusiasts. Suchań Municipality places emphasis on the development of local culture, reflected in the activities of the Folk Sports Team "Orkan" and the Janusz Kusociński Primary School, which participates in various initiatives. The municipal administration focuses on infrastructure development, with national road No. 10 significantly enhancing connectivity. Interestingly, Suchań is one of the few towns in the region without a direct railway connection, making it unique in terms of transportation. The municipality also works to protect local traditions and supports community initiatives, contributing to the preservation of cultural heritage.
