Shrine of the Pregnant Mother of God in Gdańsk Matemblewo

The Sanctuary of the Pregnant Mother of God in Gdańsk Matemblewo is a Roman Catholic Marian shrine located in the Matemblewo neighborhood, within the Brętowo district. It belongs to the Gdańsk Oliwa deanery in the Archdiocese of Gdańsk. Nearby stands the John Paul II Home for Single Mothers, which has been operating since 1994, offering shelter and support to pregnant girls and women in difficult situations. The home is run by the Sisters of the Canonesses of the Holy Spirit, who are dedicated to helping mothers and children. Initially managed by the parish, the home was taken over by Caritas of the Archdiocese of Gdańsk in 2012, highlighting the important role of the Church in supporting the local community.
