Siemień is a rural commune in the Lublin Voivodeship, located in the Parczew County, with its seat in a locality of the same name. Historically, between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Biała Podlaska Voivodeship. As of June 30, 2004, it was inhabited by 4,893 people, and according to data from the end of 2019, the population was 4,516. The commune covers an area of 110.93 km², predominantly comprising agricultural land (73%) and forested areas (12%). Siemień Commune constitutes 11.64% of the area of Parczew County. Among the villages that make up the commune are Amelin, Augustówka, Jezioro, Miłków, and Wólka Siemieńska. The region also includes neighboring communes such as Czemierniki, Milanów, Niedźwiada, Ostrówek, Parczew, and Wohyń, fostering local cooperation and cultural exchange.
