Sobków

Sobków is a rural commune located in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, in the Jędrzejów County. Its seat is the town of Sobków, and in 2010 it was inhabited by 8,406 people. The commune was established within its current borders after the administrative reform, and between 1975 and 1998 it belonged to the Kielce Voivodeship. In terms of land structure, the commune covers an area of 144.31 km², of which 70% is agricultural land and 21% is forest land. The commune is rich in rural areas, which favors agriculture and forestry. Sobków and its villages, such as Bizoręda, Choiny, Jawór, and Wierzbica, are areas with diverse natural and landscape values. These areas are typical of the Świętokrzyskie region, which is characterized by picturesque landscapes and unique flora and fauna. Architecturally, the commune retains a traditional rural character, with many wooden houses, old farm buildings, and churches. The Sobków commune also has a rich historical background dating back to ancient times, which is reflected in the local architecture, folklore, and traditions.
