Sośno, formerly the municipality of Wielowicz, is a rural commune in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, located in Sępólno County, with its administrative seat in the village of Sośno. The commune covers an area of 162.76 km², of which 75% is agricultural land and 15% is forested. In 2004, the commune was inhabited by 5,105 people. The area is rich in historical monuments, including the manor complex in Dziedno (a manor house dating back to around 1860), the manor complex in Przepałkowo (a manor from 1870), and churches such as the Evangelical, now Roman Catholic, church in Sitno from 1898, and the Baroque church in Wąwelno, dated to the years 1758–1767. The commune is also home to the Wąwelno Nature Reserve, which protects a valuable deciduous forest. Sośno and the surrounding villages are rich in diverse architectural treasures, such as the palace complex from the late 19th century in Wąwelno. The commune also stands out for preserving local cultural traditions and elements of folklore, which attract tourists. Among the interesting sites, it is worth mentioning the manor in Ostrówek, with its richly decorated architecture, and the historical manor in Tuszków, whose history dates back to the 19th century. The Sośno commune is surrounded by other communes, such as Gostycyn, Koronowo, and Sępólno Krajeńskie, which fosters diverse contacts and regional cooperation.
