Sosnowica, formerly the Wołoskowola commune, is a rural municipality located in the Lublin Voivodeship, within the Parczew County. The administrative seat of the municipality is the village of Sosnowica. Historically, the municipality was part of the Chełm Voivodeship between 1975 and 1998. In 2004, the municipality had a population of 2,658, indicating a small but stable community. The area is characterized by a rich natural landscape, including the Torfowisko przy Jeziorze Czarnym Nature Reserve, which protects unique raised bogs and picturesque lakes typical of the Lublin region. The municipality covers an area of 172.35 km², of which 40% is agricultural land and 41% is forested, highlighting its natural assets. Sosnowica Municipality comprises numerous village districts, such as Górki, Kropiwki, and Zienki, reflecting its diverse local structure.
