Špindlerova bouda, also known as Špindlerka or Špindlerovka, is a historic mountain hut converted into a hotel, located in the Krkonoše Mountains on the Karkonosze Pass, near the Polish-Czech border. The first building was erected in 1784 by Ignác Hallman, and its current name comes from František Špindler, who rebuilt the hut in 1824, giving it its present form. The facility, also referred to as Rychrářova bouda, faced numerous challenges, including two fires in the 19th century, which did not halt its operations as it was repeatedly reconstructed. In 1914, or according to some sources in 1924, the construction of an 8-kilometer road connecting the trail to Špindlerův Mlýn was completed, significantly improving access to the site. In terms of transportation today, Špindlerova bouda is reachable by bus, while car traffic is restricted. In 1997, the hut was acquired by Tomáš Tyla, who transformed it into a two-star hotel. However, in 2005, it suffered another fire. Swiftly rebuilt, it reopened in December of the same year as a three-and-a-half-star hotel. Nearby lies the Polish mountain hut "Odrodzenie." Beyond its tourist function, Špindlerova bouda plays a significant role in the region's history, blending cultural and architectural elements with numerous unique events, making it a noteworthy destination in the Krkonoše Mountains.
