wikipedia
The St. Barbara Chapel in Pietraszyn, which is part of the St. Wenceslaus Parish in Krzanowice, is a historic religious building from 1884, founded by a local baker, Jan Trullay. This white-finished neo-Gothic structure, adorned with a small tower, was the first place of worship in Pietraszyn and originally belonged to the parish in Sudice. The chapel holds not only religious but also cultural significance; in 1918, a marble plaque was installed on its northern wall to honor 23 local residents who died in World War I. Geopolitical changes after 1920, which divided the neighboring Sudice and Pietraszyn, led to the chapel being incorporated into the St. Wenceslaus Parish. In 1932, a new St. Barbara Church was opened in Pietraszyn, meaning the chapel was no longer the only religious building in the village, though it retained its importance. In 2009, the chapel was entered into the register of historical monuments, highlighting its historical and architectural value. An interesting fact is that despite its proximity to the border with Czechoslovakia, the chapel remained within German territory, which influenced its long-standing history and role in the local community.
