The Church of St. Catherine and Our Lady of the Rosary in Rybnik, located in the Wielopole district, is a Roman Catholic parish church that was relocated from Gierałtowice in 1976. It belongs to the Golejów deanery in the Archdiocese of Katowice and is part of the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Silesian Voivodeship. Built in 1534 through the foundation of Stanisław Dąbrówka, it was renovated in 1676. The church, constructed using log techniques and featuring a three-sided enclosed chancel, stands out due to its wider nave and a post-and-beam tower added in 1844 by carpenter Mateusz Pindur. An unusual feature is its placement on a high modern foundation and a roof covered with wood shingles. The interior is adorned with a late Gothic polychrome from 1534, as well as Baroque furnishings, including a 17th-century pulpit and a baptismal font with a skull. The main altar, crafted in 1827, and the side altars from the 17th century depict various saints, highlighting the cultural richness of the site. The church is the oldest wooden monument in the Rybnik area, and its history and architecture attract tourists and history enthusiasts. The surroundings feature green spaces and young trees, creating a pleasant environment for this valuable structure.
