The Church of St. Lawrence and St. Anthony in Ruda Śląska is a Roman Catholic parish church located in the Wirek district, in the Silesian Voivodeship. It belongs to the Kochłowice deanery of the Archdiocese of Katowice. Built between 1907 and 1909 in the Neo-Gothic style according to a design by Ludwig Schneider of Wrocław, the church stands out with its impressive structure, typical of Neo-Gothic architecture. The cornerstone was consecrated on May 17, 1908, and the construction work was carried out by master mason Neumann from Bytom. The church was consecrated in 1918 by Cardinal Adolf Bertram, highlighting its significance in the region as an important place of worship. The interior of the church is fully maintained in the Neo-Gothic style, and its furnishings are enriched with stained glass windows created in 1908 by Karl Lersch of Düsseldorf, which serve as a key decorative and artistic feature. The church not only serves religious functions but is also an important cultural landmark in Ruda Śląska, attracting both worshippers and tourists interested in the region’s architecture and history.
