Stanisław Staszic Municipal Park in Piła, covering an area of 11.63 hectares, is one of the oldest municipal parks in Greater Poland, established in 1896. It was entered into the register of historical monuments in 1986. Its history dates back to what was once undeveloped meadows and marshes known as Baggen. Initially, a Shooting Park was created for the Shooting Brotherhood, which was later expanded into a municipal park. The modern park is located between Wojska Polskiego Avenue and Chopina, Matejki, Paderewski, and Dzieci Polskich Streets, with its central point being an artificial pond with islands, formed by damming a stream. The park's flora is rich, with many trees having natural monument status, including monumental oaks, larches, and rare tree species such as honey locust and ginkgo biloba. Within the park, there is an Art Nouveau iron gazebo from 1904 and brick bridges. Among the monuments, it is worth mentioning the bust of Stanisław Staszic and the obelisk dedicated to the people of Piła, as well as the former Bismarck medallion. The New Shooting House, built for the brotherhood, served various functions and now houses a guesthouse. The park has undergone significant revitalization since 2000, which has contributed to the improvement of its infrastructure and aesthetics.
