The municipality of Stary Targ, located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, is a historical and cultural area comprising 14 village districts, such as Bukowo and Tulice. The seat of the municipality, Stary Targ, boasts a rich history dating back to before World War II, when the area belonged to the Stuhm district in East Prussia. Since 1945, after being incorporated into Poland, the administrative structure of the municipality has undergone various phased transformations, including the existence of a gromada (rural administrative unit) between 1954 and 1972, as well as affiliations with successive voivodeships and districts. The municipality covers an area of 141.4 km², with agricultural land dominating (81%). Demographically, the municipality is also developing, and its administration consists of numerous organizational units, including a School and Kindergarten Complex and a Municipal Cultural Center. The municipality also takes pride in its partnership with the city of Nowy Targ, reflecting its openness to cooperation and development. Interestingly, many non-village-district settlements in the municipality have unique names, testifying to the rich local culture. Over the years, the municipality has had a series of mayors and secretaries, showcasing its dynamic political history. At the same time, various cultural activities are organized in the municipality, contributing to an active social life in the region.
