Stoczek is a rural municipality located in the Masovian Voivodeship, within Węgrów County, with its administrative seat in the town of Stoczek. Between 1975 and 1998, the municipality was part of the Siedlce Voivodeship. According to demographic data, the population was 5,248 at the end of 2011, which decreased to 5,008 by the end of 2017. The municipality spans an area of 144.31 km², dominated by agricultural land (57%) and forests (39.8%), highlighting its rural character. Stoczek boasts rich natural resources, including several nature reserves such as Kulak, Moczydło, and Turzyniec. Additionally, parts of the municipality are designated Natura 2000 areas, protecting valuable and endangered species and habitats, such as Dąbrowy Seroczyńskie and Lasy Łukowskie, located within the Nadbużański Landscape Park. The municipality comprises 22 villages (sołectwa), including Błotki, Drgicz, Gajówka Zachodnia, and two villages named Stoczek. Stoczek borders several other municipalities, including Korytnica, Kosów Lacki, Liw, Łochów, Miedzna, and Sadowne.
