Sue Ryder Home in Bydgoszcz

The NZOZ Sue Ryder Home is a healthcare facility located in Bydgoszcz, in the Fordon district, near the Oncology Center. Established thanks to the British Sue Ryder Foundation, the center focuses on palliative care, offering various forms of support, including home care, inpatient care, day care, and specialized medical assistance. Architecturally, the building is situated in a wooded area, attracting attention with its tranquil surroundings, which are conducive to patient rehabilitation and rest. Historically, the Sue Ryder Home was opened in 1995, and its initiator was Margaret Susan Ryder, who had previously supported healthcare in Bydgoszcz. Interestingly, the facility not only conducts medical activities but also educational ones, training future specialists in palliative medicine. Annually, over 5,000 patients benefit from the center's care, and its staff, supported by numerous volunteers, provides a wide range of services, from palliative care and rehabilitation to support for the bereaved. The Sue Ryder Home has also specialized in innovative projects, such as a home ventilator treatment team, making it a significant center on the medical map of Poland.
