The rural commune of Suwałki, located in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, is an administrative unit within Suwałki County, with its seat in the city of Suwałki. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune belonged to the Suwałki Voivodeship. As of December 31, 2014, the population of the commune was 7,346. It covers an area of 264.82 km², of which 54% is agricultural land and 28% is forest land, reflecting its agricultural and forested character.
