Szczytniki is a rural commune in the Greater Poland Voivodeship, within the Kalisz County. Between 1975 and 1998, it was part of the former Kalisz Voivodeship. The seat of the commune is the village of Szczytniki. The area is rich in history, featuring two former towns, Iwanowice and Staw, whose coats of arms are commemorated in the commune's own emblem. According to demographic data, the population was 7,868 at the end of 2016, which slightly decreased to 7,865 residents in 2017. The commune covers an area of 110.66 km², predominantly agricultural land, which occupies 97.74 km². This land includes arable fields and orchards, highlighting the area's strong agricultural character. Additionally, the commune has 4.55 km² of forests and 8.37 km² of other lands, including unused areas. Szczytniki is composed of diverse settlements, including villages and smaller hamlets such as Antonin, Borek, Górki, Murowaniec, and Lipka, contributing to its varied social structure. It is bordered by the communes of Błaszki, Brzeziny, Godziesze Wielkie, Goszczanów, Koźminek, and Opatówek. Szczytniki takes pride not only in its architectural and historical heritage but also in its rich natural infrastructure, which supports the development of tourism. Despite its small population, the commune offers numerous interesting places for active leisure and opportunities to explore local culture.
