Szemud Commune, located in the Wejherowo County of the Pomeranian Voivodeship, boasts a rich and diverse history and culture. Until 1954, the commune was known as Wielki Donimierz Commune and covers an area of 176.57 km², of which 67% is agricultural land and 20% is forested. The administrative seat is the village of Szemud, and the commune consists of 23 villages, including Będargowo, Bojano, Dobrzewino, and Kowalewo. Historically, from 1975 to 1998, the commune was part of the Gdańsk Voivodeship, and its current demographic and social structure reflects the diversity of its inhabitants. The Tricity Landscape Park, located in Szemud, is a key element of nature conservation and a major tourist attraction.
