The rural commune of Tczew, located in the Pomeranian Voivodeship, is part of Tczew County. It was established from 26 village councils (sołectw), including Bałdowo, Boroszewo, and Malenin, which together encompass 36 localities. The seat of the commune is the town of Tczew, which serves administrative and cultural functions. Between 1975 and 1998, the commune was part of the Gdańsk Voivodeship. As of June 30, 2004, the commune had a population of 11,143 people. In terms of area, the commune covers 170.61 km², of which 80% is agricultural land and 14% is forested. The remainder consists of built-up areas, lakes, and water bodies. The Tczew commune constitutes 24.46% of the county's total area. Regarding infrastructure, the commune has three wastewater treatment plants, 54 pumping stations, and a sewer network spanning 111 km, reflecting a well-developed sanitation and sewage infrastructure. Additionally, the commune has over 240 km of municipal roads, facilitating mobility for its residents. Neighboring communes include Lichnowy, Miłoradz, and Pszczółki.
