The Family Monument, also known as the Family Sculpture, is a significant cultural and architectural landmark located in the Koszutka district of Katowice, at Grunwaldzki Square. Designed by architect Jerzy Egon Kwiatkowski in 1963, it symbolizes family, depicting parents holding their child aloft. The sculpture originally featured a smooth, beige surface, but in June 2016, its original mosaic appearance was restored, highlighting its uniqueness and artistic value. The renovation was carried out by the Social Mosaic Workshop from Lublin, demonstrating broad collaboration in the preservation of cultural heritage. The monument not only serves a decorative role but also stands as a powerful symbol of family values, making it an important reference point in local culture. The sculpture attracts the attention of both residents and tourists, and due to its accessibility, it forms a vital element of the urban public space.
