The Arthur Rubinstein Łódź Philharmonic

The Arthur Rubinstein Łódź Philharmonic, established in 1949, has its roots in the Łódź Symphony Orchestra founded in 1915. It is a cultural institution of the Łódź Voivodeship Self-Government, with its headquarters located at 20 Narutowicza Street. The building, designed by architect Romuald Loegler, was opened in 2004 and is a modern structure featuring panoramic elevators, glass walls, and a state-of-the-art concert hall with over 650 seats. Throughout its history, the Philharmonic has witnessed many significant events and transformations, from its conversion into the Municipal Philharmonic to being named after Arthur Rubinstein in 1984. Concert attendance reflects its important role in local culture, and its concert cycles, including those celebrating the institution's centenary, attract music enthusiasts. In 2015, the Philharmonic celebrated its 100th anniversary, further solidifying its position in Poland's cultural landscape. It has hosted renowned conductors and soloists, and the orchestra has produced numerous recordings, including works by Szymanowski and Beethoven.
